Whether it is an old post cluttering your grid, a Reel that did not perform as expected, or a video you no longer want associated with your account, knowing how to remove it is essential. The process is straightforward, but the steps differ slightly depending on where the video lives: your main feed, a Reel, or even a video you were tagged in by someone else.
This guide walks you through every method to delete Instagram videos. We will cover deleting posts from your profile, removing Reels and IGTV videos, untagging yourself, and what happens after you hit delete. We will also tackle common troubleshooting issues, like when the delete option is missing or the app is glitching.
Removing a Standard Video Post from Your Profile
The most common scenario is deleting a video you posted to your main Instagram feed. This could be a standalone video or part of a carousel post. The steps are the same whether you are using the Instagram app on your phone or accessing Instagram from a desktop web browser.
Deleting on Your Mobile Phone (iOS/Android)
