You slide into the driver’s seat, plug in your iPhone, and CarPlay lights up your car’s display. It’s supposed to be seamless, but maybe the map defaults to an app you don’t use, or notifications are too distracting. Perhaps you wish Siri spoke a little slower, or you just want to rearrange the icons on your home screen.
This feeling of almost-perfect integration is common. CarPlay is powerful, but its default settings aren’t a one-size-fits-all solution. The good news is that Apple provides a robust set of customization options, all managed directly from your iPhone. You don’t need to be a tech expert to tailor the system to your driving habits.
