Remember the poisonous potato. It has a 60% chance of poisoning you for 4 seconds and only restores 2 hunger points. It cannot be planted or cooked. It is generally best to discard it or use it as compost material.

How do I get potatoes in the Nether? You cannot grow standard crops in the Nether due to the lack of water. Farmland cannot be hydrated there. You must grow potatoes in the Overworld and transport them through a Nether portal.
